Ski Smithers is an established downhill ski destination comprising over 35 runs and about 300 acres of skiable terrain. With a vertical drop of about 1,750 feet, Ski Smithers offers great variety of terrains for both experienced and less experienced skiers, making the resort an excellent family mountain. Four lifts provide a total rated up-hill capacity of 2,858 passengers per hour. Facilities include an expansive 7,000 square foot day lodge, as well as a lower lodge, warming hut, ski rental building and other service buildings.
A 26-kilometre, two-lane, gravel road provides easy access to the ski area from the Town of Smithers, with driving time estimated at about 30-minutes. Air transportation to Smithers can be arranged through Air Canada, Pacific Coastal Air, and Central Mountain Air. Ski Smithers is located mid-way on the Highway 16 corridor and has the advantage of drawing visitors from the larger population centers at either Prince George or Prince Rupert.
